Pentecost: 8 June 2014

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. — Romans 5: 5

Bible reading: Acts 2: 1–13

Message

We have received the gift of love. Let us make use of it! This Pentecost the Holy Spirit reminds us of Jesus’ promise to “come again and receive you to Myself” (John 14: 3). We hope to enter into eternal fellowship with God soon. In our Bible text, Apostle Paul explains why this hope is so fully and completely justified.

Core Points

  • Our hope is rooted in our trust in the love of God.
  • Through the gift of the Spirit we have received the gift of love.
  • To prepare ourselves for the return of Christ we must make use of this gift!
